Has anyone messed around with hydro dipping? Like this - Camo Dip Kit - Do It Yourself Water Transfer Camo Dip Kit

I am considering doing my dashboard and console in carbon fiber

Hydro dipping is great my buddy owns his own shop but never done it with the DIY kit

I just got my vent trim and grab handles done in carbon fibre , love them. My buddy does it if anyone's interested

Is it purely asthetic or does is provide some additional protection against abuse?

I've seen something similar done to guitars - interesting, but I would wait until you see what it looks like for real.
