Default Daystar dash storge

I installed my Daystar dash storage today but it seems that when I slide in the front end and slowly try and push down to clip in the rear it feels as if there's too much resistance. Once I have it locked down, I can see that the panel is slightly bowed in the front/center lower area right between the gap of the radio. Anyone else have this? I'll edit with a pic tomorrow because it's too dark for a good pic right now.

When I first installed mine I inadvertently dropped one of the clips down the black hole so my wife picked up some new clips. The new ones (from the dealer) were longer and it didn't seat right so I fished out the clip using a coat hanger and double sided tape and with the old clips it sat down correctly. Just a thought if you are using new clips go back to the old ones and I bet it works. Otherwise it could just need some heat to it to sit straight. One more thing to verify is if the compass was installed correctly...just a thought.

I reused the old clips on my Daystar dash panel as well but that's what the instructions said to do. Mine didn't come with clips anyway.

Mine does this too, but seems to hold on OK.

My Daystar Dash Panel does the same thing in the front but I let it ride and no problems. I wish I had a solution but I don't, sorry

Dropped one of mine too, and the other one no matter how I shape it doesnt grab at all. Right now its just sitting up in the air in the back. So I called the dealer today, (didnt have the instructions with me which have part #), and he says you have to order the entire panel to get the clips. Ill try again tomorrow with the part #, but Ill never buy from Daystar again. I know everyone elses installs went mostly smooth, but mine didnt, and if you inconvenience me, youll never get another dime from me.

Wouldve gladly paid another 5 or 10 bucks for the panel if it came with clips already installed.

I installed mine this weekend and it doesn't bow. Not sure why or why not.

I accidentally bent the tab on the new panel a little while pushing on the clips. But it bent back fine without cracking or breaking. Maybe that loosened it up enough to keep it from bowing. Lol.

I just put a couple small screws right through the back of the daystar into the dash.. works great and never have to worry about loosing the clips again !!

Mine went in easy and doesn't bow. Guess I just got lucky. Pretty decent, cheap mod.
