Default Daystar hood catch

I was trying to replace the factory hood catch with the one from Daystar but for some reason, they seem to be short. What did I do wrong?

I don't think you did anything wrong. They are shorter. That lessens the chances of hood wobble. A buddy of mine has them. When he showed them to me he made a point of showing me that they were shorter.

How short are they? Maybe that is part of how they are tighter on the Jeep., because they are a little shorter, and therefor hold the hood down tighter. Not sure other then that...unless you got sent the wrong ones

Maybe someone else on here has them and can answer better.

I thought the same thing. They are frigging TIGHT! But then I guess thats what we wanted right? Thats definately not allowing any hood flutter.

I know they seem short, but they do work.

Just got some today for my birthday and installed about 1 hour ago. They are shorter and a PITA to get latched. I guess they could stretch out. I dont think the hood will be fluttering anymore.

Ive had em for about a month now and at first, they were definitely a PITA. But now, its barely worse then the stock ones and still no flutter
