Drove from Utah to Tahoe last summer, it was very un-nerving watching that hood bounce for hours at a time. I'll have to add this to the wish list.

My 09' was fine, no flutter or dancing at all... Didn't have the recall of the hood latches etc. THEN, installed the TeraFlex leveling kit and my Rugged Ridge front stubby bumper with skid plate which of course required removing the stupid bottom piece of plastic. Wow, my hood now thinks it's on Dancing with the Stars. This with only 12k miles of driving on my latches. My wife is horrified driving on the highway thinking she is going to get killed. So... I assure her it's no biggy but I am now considering a change.

Removed the hood spring, no more flutter, no matter what the wind.

Many of us have experienced the hood dance with the air dam in place. I had a 6K mile trip in my (then) new JK and the hood was happily doing the jig to its own tune, even though the vehicle was almost entirely stock (had rock rails, no tires or lift).

I've had mine break, too, but only noticed it when it was setting in my driveway. I carry a couple spare 11" zip ties just in case. Do ensure that you buy zip ties rated for outside use (not all are).

You should do the zip-tie mod in the meantime. Two 11" zip ties and five minutes time.

I keep reading about this hood flutter... am I the only one who doesn't have this problem with the stock latches?

Same here!
Mine has never bounced. At least not bad enough for me to notice.
