Thumbs down Daystar Hood Wrangler Kit

Installed this kit today...thoroughly unimpressed with it.
The bolts did not fit properly and had to be tapped in with a hammer, and now the hood is extremely hard to latch closed.
All in all....wouldn't have purchased it.

Give it a couple days in the sun and they will loosen up. Mine was really tough the first few times I had to open it, but is fine now, and the hood stays nice and tight even at high speeds in head winds.

My 2 cents, but thought I'd put a positive outlook out there for ya!

I'm just pissed that I had to hammer those bolts into the plastic factory housing....I don't think that should ne necessary.

Don't use a hammer. You have to massage them into place.

I love mine. Jiggawha is correct. Give it a couple of days and they'll flex up right away. Mine are tight, but the hood is easier to open than that first day.

The Mopar 09 Hood Latches work!! And they're only $10 and they simply replace the factory one's. You just need a tiny slim socket wrench and reuse the factory nut. They aren't hard to latch the hood at all and feel exactly like the old one's but they really do work! We were driving down the highway with gusty winds and passing semi's and the hood wouldn't budge. Very happy with them.

I thought I was going to break the hood hold-downs trying to close it!
DAMMIT!! If only you would have posted that a few days ago I could have saved $20....

If they were loose then you would have the same problem. Considering your location and the time of year I'm surprised you were able to get them installed. They will loosen up some in a few months....

The '09 latches only work for a short period of time. They will loosen up just like the previous ones.... go ahead and read the whole thread and you will see folks already reporting issues....

Plus you'll see that folks are reporting that the Daystar latches are holding up just fine. Not to mention they are easier to latch...
