Default Daystar upper dash panel

I just installed my Daystar upper dash panel, nice upgrade to any JK. If you buy one of these, tear a sheet of newspaper and slide around the wire for the compass...these will keep a dash clip or screw from the compass from falling inside the dash...if any of you remember Shemp Howard looking for his Cracker Jack ring inside a console TV you will understand why the sheet of newspaper is a real important step!!

I didn't have any issues with the clips or the compass. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying with the newspaper.

The newspaper covers up the area above the radio, if a clip flys off or one of the screws on the compass fall out, they fall inside the dash, you spread the paper over this area to catch the screw...once you pop the stock dash panel off you will see all the nocks and crannies a screw can disappear into...

Yeah, I didn't lose any screws because I took those out while it was upside down. That way, even if a screw fell, it would fall into the panel, and not the dash.
Not sure how people are losing the clips, I had a damn hard time just getting them off the original panel.

Does the color match on the new Daystar units? There were a few complaints in the past about the color not matching the rest of the black in the dash.

I have ordered clips for the dealer. I need one for the dash cover above the radio. If the one I ordered is the correct one, I will post the mopar part number. The one I found a part number for, is located in the center console near the cup holders. It looks identical to the ones in the dash panel.

They are 1.50 a piece.
