Daystar Upper Dash Panel
Just wondering if any of you have ever bought this - and if so how you are liking it. Is it made of a material that could in any way scratch or damage the orginal dash piece it goes on top of? Just curious of some feedback from any of you who may have bought it?
Thanks!

I personally do not like it. In sted of making it one big flat area with raised sides, the tried to get creative and make two slots. I knew this going in, but thought it would hold my stff. Turns out that neither my phone or shades fit well. I may go back to the stock pannel.
I've got it and it works for what I want to put up there.. I've put some non-slip kitchen drawer material in the slots though. Keeps small items from sliding around..
It's really easy to put on too..

I have one and love it. A few things to note.
1.) Make sure you reinstall the compass correctly. The compass is bolted to the underside of the factory dash piece. There's a place to mount it on the Daystar pannel, but if you put it in backwards your compass will be reversed.
2.) Your cell phone may interfere with your digital compass if left on the dash. If you have GPS this isn't really an issue.
3.) Get some rubber matting and cut it to fit. I used tool-box liner. Its a puffy rubber material like what you'd use to keep rugs from slipping. I used Glue Dots (get them at the office supply store) to afix them. The Glue Dots also work great for posters and IR flashers for home theaters. They're cheap, like $3 for 60 of them. I used 4 on the smaller compartment and 8 on the larger.

If someone wants to trade me, I'd do it for free.
Mine is in perfect condition.
Here's the deal: Ship me your scratch free stock upper, I'll swap out my Daystar upper and ship it to you in the same box you shipped to me. The only cost to you is having no upper while you wait on the swap. I can live with the Daystar so don't care if this happens or not, but I'm not willing to drive around with a hole in my dash.
