Default DC Mud Country?

Any thoughts or feedback on this tire? I am considering picking up 5 35's for my 09 2 door.

For that small amount of people that do have them. they all say they like them. i was going to get those myself. but i'm going for the new Goodear MTR with Kevlar. but still like the MC's.

I thought that Dick Cepek had an awesome reputation. Are they known to be 'cheap' in any sense of the word?

Not that I know of. I've always found good reviews and really liked my last set of MTZs.

I run KM2s and love them but DC mud country is hardly a skimp on tires

If you want to boring and copy everyone else get the KM2. The DC Mud Country won't let you down but I would be try the new MTR as its getting better reviews than the KM2.

you answered your own question... they cost more. Have you run them personally or are you just drinking the koolaid? I have used them and I would say they are very comparable to KM2s

This from someone who probably never owned a set.

I have a set. I like them. Good off road tire. They didn't wear bad, either. Your drive style will affect this, though. Mud tires never wear as well as ATs.

Anytime you ask for feedback on an item on this forum, you get a lot of people telling you what they got instead or why you shouldnt get them. Get some good first hand knowledge from current/former DC owners.

Then, get what YOU want.

I see a lot of guys pointing fingers at tires and manufacturers for the way their tires wear... what about the fact you possibly installed your lift yourself? Alignment? Proper wheel balance?

If everything is in check, and done PROPERLY, then there is no reason for a tire to wear prematurely. Some tires do suck, for sure, I see that every day. Dick Cepek is not by any means a crappy tire, and although they aren't what I am going to be putting on my JK, I know lots of people who love them and get great mileage out of them.

I absloutely HATE Goodyear passenger tires, but lots of experienced guys out there swear by the MTR's, and one of my tire distributors has me convinced on the new Dunlop M/T Maxx Traction. Spoke with him at length this morning about it, and considering it's an M/T already siped for ice, I think he has me sold. They are the absolute cheapest tire in a 285/70R17 I can get my hands on.

Something to be said for when a salesman talks you out of an expensive tire into a cheaper one.
