Default dealer ridiculous pricing

I pick up my black 2008 JK 2dr X this Saturday. The only unfortunate thing about it is that it comes with 3.21 gears. I asked the dealer to put the towing package on with 3.73 or 4.10 gears and they put the tow package on for 400 bucks but quoted me 10,000 bucks for the gear swap.

How the hell did they come up with that figure!?!? I am taking it with 3.21s and will spring for 4.10s (or 4.88) whenever I can get the money for parts and labor from an offroad shop.

they are quoting you for new Rubicon axles..

Run from that dealer!!!

They fucked you on the tow package, its $100.00 hitch and a plug in wire harness. its 4 bolts to install. About 10 minutes..

Did they atleast give you the hook back?

are you sure its not a misunderstanding?

hell send me the number to them cause i gotta hear what all this intells, what do they have super super duper gears? they may have pulled a number out of their ass because they just dont want to do it. best case for them, u agree and they made mad cash in someones pocket or u say no and they are still happy since they wont have to do it.

hell if i know

Icy, was that a Buffalo dealer or Roch dealer? The dealer I bought mine from in the Southtowns doesnt know anything unless you give them a part number or very exact info. It is a shame.

ejb, I think its the same one we are thinking of in the Southtowns. Near the football stadium.

I am stuck buying from them, because my Dad refuses to buy from anywhere else.

Here is the price grid:

Tow Hooks- parts $91.30- labor $144.25- total $235.55
Hitch w/harness- parts $264.50- labor $155.00- total $419.50
*** I put up with this since I need the stuff NOW ***

Front 4.10 $4,495.00/$599.62/$5,094.62
Rear 4.10 $2,995.00/$599.62/$3,594.62
Rubicon Rock Rails $296.00/$114.27/$410.27
Hood Lock $153.00/$133.31/$286.31
*** this is the stuff I told them NOT to do ***

I can buy gears and have them installed for $1,500, Rock rails cheaper, and a hood lock for $20 bucks!

Oh, and the price I quoted was for the removal of the hook, installation of the hitch, installation of harness, new front tow hooks, and labor. I know it can be done cheaper, but I need a hitch ASAP for my quad and towing duties.
well if daddy is willing to spend $10,000 then convince him to go somewhere and get a badass lift, tires, winch, lockers, etc.....
why does he refuse to go anywhere else? its obvious those people do not know what they are talking about and they are going to rip you and daddy off every chance they get.

while your at it, why don't you get dad to wire me some of that money he is wasting. im unemployed, so it would atleast be for a good cause.

YEOWZA!!! They must have qouted you something horribally wrong, I know from the dealer where I am from for the unlimited with a 4" lift, drive shafts, track bars and Pro Comp rims and tires it was 4k more with the 4.10s. They must have had a case of the crooked eyes when they checked the lines.
