Default Death to Tailgate

Hey guys, just looking for some advice here. Would a 35" Toyo M/T absolutely destroy the stock tailgate? Or would it rest on the bumper and be alright or what??? I have LT295/70R17s now and they haven't caused any problems

flip a coin will it land heads up or tails? i would say it depends on a lot of things like rims, how you drive, were you drive etc. its your tailgate so i say go for it if you want to and let us know how it all works out. if it was my tailgate i wouldn't do it though.

The Toyos are also very heavy tires compared to others of the same size.
It would be fine for a while but I wouldn't do it long term or over rough bumpy terrain.

Yeah I also had that thought. I do wheel it pretty hard about once or twice a month. I was just wondering if maybe the tire would rest on the bumper when mounted and take some stress off of the tailgate... Would there be big problems with running a 33.5 in spare with 34.8 tires on it??? haha

Those Toyos are 83 lbs, my 35" KM2s are 67 lbs. . Stock tires are in the 40-45 lb range. That should put in perspective how heavy the Toyos are and how much more stress you are putting on the tailgate.

It will work for now, but it's just a matter of time. The more often you wheel the sooner that time will come.
