Default death wobble?

I installed a 4" lift about 6 months ago.still using the stock steering. Recently, I started having a slight wobble/ shudder between 48 and 56 mph. Is this part of the death wobble I keep hearing and reading about?

Have you been through planman's death wobble checklist? That would help cross a lot off of the list and answer some questions for you and the community.

No, that's not death wobble. The main symptoms of death wobble are an extremely violent shaking from the front end that doesn't stop until you stop the jeep and the need to change your shorts after you just sh*t your pants when it happened.

Read this and you'll probably find the solution to your problem too.

Good luck.

I figured out what it was. (Between rigerous underway schedules and a deployment) turns out I have a bent control arm from before I even installed the lift. The added changes to the geometry just made the shudder more pronounced.

I have a full set of high clearance synergy short arms on the way to correct the problem. With this year being just as rigerous as the last two years schedules, I won't have it in until late next month.

If all goes well, I will be back on the trails this fall with plenty of new goodies! Including my new trail buddy, Tycho. he's got a few years before he can reach the pedals, but he'll be a jeep fanatic as soon as he's able.
