I got mind from a vinyl guy on Ebay. Pretty cheap. The "Jeep" decals I think were $5/pair.

I got a set of JK stickers, but did not get them successfully installed. Apparently the wrong side of the backing came off, so I had to peel if off the other backing and it got sort of stretched. I need a new one, because it looks like crap. I also need detailed instructions. Do I need to wet them down first. or what?

no do NOT wet them.
the "masking tape" looking stuff is the transfer tape, it "holds" the vinyl in place while adhering to whatever. you peel it of the backing material and leave it attached to the transfer tape (you should be able to read whatever the sticker is at this time) and apply it to the vehicle pushing out the air as you go.
THEN you remove the transfer tape.

if its vinyl why not wet them... keeps you from putting them in the wrong spot and helps get out all the air before it dries. hell even use a little soap

there is a difference between SPRAYING the area with some application spray and "soaking" them like a old school model decals till the transfer paper falls apart

He is putting on some letters not a wrap. if you cant put on letters without air bubbles you need to not be putting them on your car

For small stuff you should be good, but regardless you can mix a little bit of soap and water in a spray bottle and hit the area to be applied to with a fine mist. That way you can move it around if its crooked or uneven etc. Also its easier to use clear application film but some decal places still use the cheaper paper masking tape type deal.
