Default Decals on Vinyl

I know you are not "supposed" to put any adhesive, like tape or anything on your softop vinyl windows. But has anybody tried putting a decal on them? When I first bought my JK the dealer said it was not good to put tape on the windows, so he tried to tape the temp lic to the back corner where it wasn't noticeable. After I pulled it off it did leave a weird "print" on the vinyl that took me awhile to to get off and look fairly normal again. I think these white decals would look really great on the side windows, but I sure don't want to if it's gonna mess them up real bad.
I imagine I'm gonna get a "better not" response, but just wanted to confirm.
Anybody tried it?
Thanks....

If you're looking to remove them then I think you already know your answer....

That said if you want to put one on and forget it - (i.e. it's on perminantly) then I've seen several soft tops with stickers on them and they were holding up OK - I dunno how old they were, but I'm guessing a couple years old from the looks of the stickers and top's windows.

can't tell you about the clear vinyl, but I got one on my spare tire cover, and it has held up for almost a year now... Just stick it and forget it, or do it on the inside, so it will last forever, or the life of that particular window....

Yes.....that was what I was thinking....putting it on the inside corner of the side windows and forgetting about them. I just was wondering how they would wear and what it might do to the vinyl while they were actually on the windows. They are decals of a rams head that are pretty cool. If I decide to put them on I'll let you guys see them.
Thanks......
