Decent set of shocks for <$200

Feel is very subjective, and may vary from Jeep to Jeep but here is my best explanation,
I had Rubi shocks to start with.
The Daystars are a bit firmer then the factory Rubi shocks on the road but not jarring, rough or uncomfortable in my opinion.
Off road where I thought they would be too soft especially loaded down, and at higher speeds.....I was totally wrong.
The ride off road is great to me. Firm enough to not feel flighty or loose, but not so stiff you lose your teeth over washboard, or rough terrain.
I have a good friend that is pretty picky about shocks/suspension etc, and he thought they worked really great as well.
Even at higher speeds they don't seem to fade or get excessively hot.
For a inexpensive hydro shock the valving seems to be very good in my opinion.
Sure most won't agree with me and I must be crazy since I didn't spend 1000 bucks or more on shocks, but I'd replace these with the same shock again if I were to do it over.
Just for reference on the 3 Jeeps I've had I've run Rancho 5000s, Rancho 9000XLs, Dostech 3000s, Bilstein 5100s, OME Nitros,Pro Comp 3000s, Pro Comp 9000s, a well as the factory shocks.

I really liked the Teraflex shocks and they were in you price range.
I currently have Rancho rs9000xl's and like them also. They will run you a little more than 200 though. I find the adjustability nice depending g on commuting, offroading, pulling trailer, jeep full of people, etc.

Decent shocks
Check out Craigslist for Jeep JK parts. I scored a complete suspension system from a Rubicon Unlimited with less than a 100 miles on it for $100. Added 1 " Daystar spacers and it`s a whole new ballgame. You`ll feel the improvement right away.

I have rubi shocks I'd sell cheap, but look into the teraflex ones also. I use those and really don't feel a need to upgrade and will buy them again. No high speed desert stuff so I don't have any heat issues.

If you are stock or leveled, the monroe reflex are really really good, I am running this setup now and I love it!...highly recommended. Plus, with ordering them through napa, lifetime replacement is a snap!

The Monroe reflex worked well for me. I am leveled and just asked for the Rubicon version. I looked them up on the Monroe site first, and they spec out two different versions on one end (I think it was the rear). They ride very good. I switched from stock sport shocks and I think they are better. They definitely control my 33s better over washboard roads. I am in control and not bouncing into the other lane.
