Default Decisions, decisions..

In the very near future I will be upgrading to 4.88 gears and 35" Duratracs. Now the dilemma is I don't know whether I should add sleeves and gussets to my stock D30 or invest in a prorock44. I do not do any extreme wheeling and I never plan on rock climbing. I will maybe hit some mild trials a few times a year. Other than that my jeep is my daily driver. I just want the tires for the ride height and looks.

with 35's, you really should install some gussets as the axle c's really do want to bend easily. as far as sleeves go, if you're really just a mild wheeler, you'd probably do just fine without them and a prorock 44 may be more than what you really need.

What about driving in heavy snow? Should my D30 hold up?

I will go against the grain and advise either sleeves/gussets/truss, or a PR. Actually, sense it is your money, I'll just say forget the 30 upgrades and go with the PR.

I would listen to Wayoflife, he doesn't seem to give advice without reason. When ever I read something he replies to I try and take note. I never know when I'm going to be asking myself the same things. Some of the guy's around here have some great advice.

As far as snow is concerned, your D30 will be fine. I have taken my X that has a D30 into the snow several times now. These Jeeps are built to take a lot of abuse. It's when we take it up another notch or two that gets us in trouble.
