Decisions, Decisions , Decisions....Warn or Brand X
The dilemma is to go with a Warn M8000 for and additional $200 or 12,000lb chinese winch that did well in a magazine shootout? Going on a JKU and am concerned if the Warn will be stout enough. Not looking for a brand war...I know Warn is best! Just wondering if the Warn 8k will be able to handle an unlimited or would I be better with the overseas 12k and add synthetic for same $$$? Let hear your thoughts. I am open to either!
Would love to hear from those running a warn M8000 on a JKU!!

Specs of each
Warn M8000
Line speed:

4000 - 11.9
6000 - 9.79
8000 - 8.01
Pull by layer
1/8000
2/7460
3/6980
4/6620
Engo E12000
Line Speed
0 - 22 ft/min
4000 - 11.5
6000 - 9.8
8000 - 8.2
10000 - 6.8
12000 - 5.6
Pull by Layer (what concerns me)
1/12000
2/9530
3/7920
4/6670 (50%???) equal to 4th layer on M8000!
Being new to winching I am not sure how much the pull by layer will affect me? Do you usually always pull on first layer of do you sometimes have to pull on 3rd/4th layer?

It seems to me that all of the chinese winches are going to be about the same quality. Maybe I'm wrong.

the warn 8000 will be enough to get the job done. if you use it correctly and apply a snatch block as needed, it'll be more than enough. when it comes to winches, i would rather have one that i know is going to work than one that is simply rated to pull a greater amount of weight. but hey, that's just me.

I have a rugged ridge 8500lbs with synthetic winch line, cost me under $500 and pulls like a champ, so far
By appearance, it seems a lot of these off brand winches are the same unit, with different stickers.
There is so much good information available on winch comparisons, I'm surprised the interwebz has any room left for porn. Do some google searches for additional info.

I believe the rumba is made in canada.but if you think about im sure alot of name brand ones have parts from china. Its just not mentioned. But I could be wrong. Oh the runva came with a snatch block, winch cover and a wireless remote and of course the wired control. Check it out.
