Terraflex has a Long Travel System and it uses a Long Arm Kit I believe.

I'd throw Teraflex's pre-runner kit in the mix or maybe even just their limiting straps and bumps. Or you could also do another aftermarket bump stop and the EVO bump can's. Just my two cents

Airing down and keeping it in the higher revs as stated before is really the best thing to do. I run around a lot in the desert as decent speeds even when not airing down. All about skill, some gear, and a lil luck IMO.

and what should I do if I have a *gasp* automatic? Going to the dunes in Oregon in about a month, just ordered a trans cooler, but there's really not a way to control my gears. Should I 4-hi in first and second only, or should I just 4-hi in D with overdrive off? or 4-low in drive with overdrive off? Sorry for kinda hijacking this thread, just a bit curious.

For an auto, make sure the O/D is off, 4hi or 4lo depending on conditions.

You're considering a Hemi swap but a lift kit sounds expensive?

I advise you to think about your priorities a bit more before you start buying parts.

You could sell the JK and get the Rally or Raptor....this would be a much easier route.

JK's aren't meant to go fast. You need something with IFS.

The Raptor is a huge truck and JKs look sweet with everything off , we use the polaris rzrs in the dunes most of the time and with the cost of it and upgrading its too much not to mention towing it there. With perfectly setup Jeep I would just go on/off road without hassle. It's not only for fast driving maybe some jumping adde to the mix.

Best way to do it is the EVO system. have a look at this video and see what one of they guys could do with his JK, it also had a hemi.
