Diff Bolt missing?
I just noticed one of my bolts from from rear diff are not there. It seems like maybe its leaking also from same spot? Im thinking this happened when the lift was put on? (sky jacker 4") Part of the lift uses 3 bolts from the diff cover and one is not there. How big of a problem do i have?

Step 1: Replace the bolt.
Step 2: Drain the diff using the drain plug. If diff fluid can leak out, contaminates can leak in. It's cheap insurance.
Step 3: Fill the diff with a good quality diff fluid. I prefer synthetic, but do a search - you'll get many opinions.
Step 4: Go find the a-hole that the put on the lift. If it was a shop, ask them why they didn't torque the bolts properly. If it was you, sorry about the a-hole comment.
But I still would be upset the bolts weren't torqued properly!
Step 4: Keep checking your Jeep for leaks. It's just good practice!

Nah. Not too bad. You'll need to pull your diff cover off and clean everything up good. Get a can of break cleaner and spray down the internals good - wipe out the excess. Clean off the diff plate Apply a small tube (or two) of RTV (gasket silicone) around the mating edges of the diff cover. Use a razor blade to get the old silicone off gasket material off first. Put on the new cover and tighten the bolts loosely. After about an hour torque the bolts to 30 ft lbs. Fill with your favorite diff fluid (time to upgrade to synthetic?)
If you take the opportunity to replace the diff cover with an armored one (like a Riddler or other cover of your choice) you'll be thinking "Cool. I had a great excuse to upgrade!!"

If you do it yourself (which most will recomend) then take pride in it and take your time to do it right. If you do decide to take it back to the shop that did the lift, be realistic with them. Let them know a mistake was made and you simply want it fixed right. As for them to flush and refil your diff and to replace the missing bolt. If you dont go in screaming and yelling (and yes there are times for that) you will be amazed at what they may do for you.

na, this shop is cool as hell. I think they will do the right thing here. But it did cross my mind to get a new cover. Riddler i keep hearing is nice. Where is best place to price them out?
Riddlers are awesome and tuff as hell, but in your case will not be compatable with the bracket you are running from the top of the diff (might be able to modify??).
