I don't do really difficult trails the Axles are to increase durability the long arm for the ride and the lockers just in case. I admit my jeep is probably over built (is there such a thing? ). Im going to continue slowly building it but I can do a -/+$600 part every month once I get home from afghanistanso im trying to get the bit purchases done now. With 37s though do I need to brace the sector shaft or is that for bigger tires and hyd assist mainly? another thing anywhere running rusty's axle back exhaust? if so how do you like it?
Well, if this is the case, you need to reconsider the entire build and reprioritize the upgrades.

Is your X a two-door or a four-door?

$125 is cheap insurance for your steering, the PSC cooling kit is worth it before you blow your pump and need a rebuild on the steering box as I do now.

PSC Motorsports Jeep JK Cooler & Mount Bracket Kit - PSC-MBC110K

Or just go with a hydro assist kit!

I feel a cage is more important for a high speed roll over on the freeway than a trail flop. The next big mod for me is a cage because my daily commute is 80 miles round trip at 70-80mph and every other idiot driving around me is texting or doing something else besides driving.

I really liked the PSC steering cooler... Im gonna get one with the added tranny cooler it just seems like a clean smooth almost factory looking..... The only time I would really need the Supercharger is on the drive home through a few mountain passes. So im still bouncing around the subject cause yes it will be bad ass and add more power but I will also loose durability not to mention the $5k it is to get it unless I just went with a non intercooled stage 1 kit... how would that work out?. but if I stay natural aspirated what kind of mods can I do to help the puny motor out? Im leaning strong towards the Rusty's axle back exhaust, its cheap and I have experience the Cherry bombs, no frills no fancy name just a muffler that does its job. and if I stay NA I'll probably get a trail dash. I have been planning this build for months now bouncing around all different set ups and stuff. And basically looking for opinions. and different set ups to think about and compare. Should I get dual stabilizers? say the rough country 2.2 duals? and anyone know know of a good weld in cage? and as for the rubicrawler it really helps on the climbs and descents I do I like the whole High Mid Low idea of it and I don't need an atlas cause the Rubicrawler fills the bill perfectly. Also Ive seen shorty headers (like flow daddy and rugged ridge)... Do they work? I know about the heat issues but I've always wrapped my headers before install helps with the wires and heat. I was happy with 3.73s pushing my 35s at the time and now i'll be pushing 37s with 5.13 gears.

I looked at it along with every other produced sport cage and weld in cage I could possibly find. I put them all on a list from best to worst, the Smitty was at the bottom.

Method of mounting, material used, quality of powdercoating, etc.

Cages should be out of DOM tubing, minimum of 1.75" tube, 0.120" wall. The stock JK B-pillar is crap and needs strong reinforcements or to be replaced.

Smittybilt is the poorest design, quality, etc.

I wouldn't consider anything for safety from smittybuilt. A cage is one thing not to go cheap on.
