Default Dilema BFG D's or E's

I am going to go BFG 285/75/16

I have been searching for the best price like crazy thinking that there is only one of this. I found out that there are actually two different ones

285/75/16 E weights about 57lbs and its 11.3" by 33"

and

285/75/16 D weights about 55lbs and its 11.4" by 32.8"

I know that the E and the D have to do with snow and such.

Which one should I go with I live in FL, I will be offroading maybe once a month more like once every other month

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found the Ds at discounttiredirect.com for $980 shipped

and

The Es at tirerack.com for $1,089 shipped

HELP HELP

THANKS

m/t or a/t?

Either way though, I dont think you could go wrong with BFG's in the D or E.......... if you do alot of sharp rock crawling maybe the E's?

I run Firestone M/T in the D and they ride good and take the abuse too.

The E's will beat you to death. That's a 10 ply tire.

D and E are the load range..... E's are overkill for a jeep IMO...and you will need a good Dental plan if you use them, the ride will be rough

D and E are not related to snow or conditions such as rain etc. These are directly related to the plys and load rating for each tire. This is why the E's weigh more. For a JK the D rating is probably the highet you will ever need for any situation such as towing. E rated tires come standard on many 3/4 ton and larger vehicles. Find a local tire dealer (Independant IMO) and have them order what you want and need. My guess is in less than three calls you can beat the internet price, mounted and balanced.

Good Luck!

Mine are D and when the wear out I will not go with another D range tire. It is very heavy duty and give almost no side wall flex when u air down. IMO C is all you need, the D is a very stiff ride.
