Do I Dare?
Issues: P0300, no power when accelerating even after restarting computer and driving before the light comes on.
Things I'v replaced so far: PCV valve, EGR valve, both manifolds, crankshaft position sensor, cleaned throttle, replaced plugs (coil and cables are new), and ran a can of sea foam through it as well.
Verdict: After running sea foam, I noticed a very tiny bit of bubbling where the passenger side head meets the blocks and the passenger side of my block is wet as well.
So do I dare attempt replacing the gaskets myself or should I bite the bullet and pay to have it fixed?
Anyone know how to do it, or in what order you take the motor apart?
Price difference I figure is less than $125.00 to do it myself...and possibly $500- $1000 if the shop does it.

Most important question is, can you leave the vehicle disabled for one to three weekends ( assuming your only going to work on it during the weekends and aren't going to kill yourself trying to get it done). Secondary question is, do you have all the appropriate tools to complete the job. Tertiary, have you ever done any similar work before. You may be able to find a local jeeper or may even have a friend who can help you tear into it quick and easy. I would do my own, but I have the tools, and have built a few engines.
Working from home so I can do that no problem, I have your basic tools but I also have a harbor fright just a few miles away so thats there if I need it. The things I mentioned replacing is as deep in the engine as I went but the difficulty isn't what I'm really worried about, it's the order in how to do it. So far I have watched a few installs of superchargers on the JK because thats the closest I can get to seeing how someone even begins to dismantle the top.
Know of any video that go deeper? If I can see it done then I'll be able to do it no problem (so long as I don't come across some other catastrophic issue) lol
Awesome thanks! I'll do a write-up for the forum!
