Do I need to cut Rubi Rails????

Default Do I need to cut Rubi Rails????

I just installed 285/70/17 Duratracs, and the distance between the wheel and the rail seems too small. I looked up online and people seem to be cutting rails only with 35" tires. Do I need to cut mine, or I should be ok? I don't do any crazy off-roading or rock crawling, but I want to make sure If i go camping or something I will not damage the tire.

Looks like you need some lift and adjustable rear control arms.

I do not have any lift, but I do plan on putting 2.5" in the near future. So, once I lift it, I will be OK?

You should be fine. The tire actually moves backwards as it travels up. The control arms cause an arc of movement, not straight up.

I'd trim it. I have 2.5" and mine was still very close. It's easy and you won't have anything to worry about after.

You need to flex it out and see if its going to rub.

Looking at that pic I wouldn't flex that even on a curb. It will rub for sure. Take off about 1.5", spray the cut and pop the end cap back on and your good to go.
