I bought a hilift jack because it looks cool as heck mounted on my JK .. but since I have a Winch ... is there really any good use for it ?? Or can I save 30+ lbs by leaving it home .. ???

YES! Changing tires, jacking up the rear/front so you can pull a broken axle, lifting your diff off of any large rock it's stuck on (tree saver around tire/axle), jacking your side armor (steps, rubi guards, etc) off of rocks, jacking up your lowest side in off camber situations to potentially save a roll over...I'm out of ideas at the moment, but I'm sure they're plenty more

Great for straighten tie-rods.

Stump wedged underneath and winch will sometimes stall. Use a hu-lift to get you up and off it. Yes, personal experience.

If you got high centered on some rocks or something it would be good to be have the jack for getting the Jeep clear of it while you used the winch to pull it free.

If you wheel long enough, you wiil understand why most seasoned wheeler never go with out one.

There are times that you can wedge a tire in a crack or between rocks, or hi-center your heep in such a way that winching forward or backward or sideways with out lifting it up over a lip or obstruction, or freeing a tire from being wedged, will literally rip you jeep apart! and that is never a happy moment.

A winch is a great tool and has saved my aurse many a long walk, but there are many tools of the trade, and like food, water, first aid supplies, tools ect, the hi-lift may be big, heavy and a pain to lug around, but the first time it save your vehicle and maybe your life, you'll understand what I mean my friend.
