Default Do i need a procal or superchips?

i am installing a rough country budget boost with some nitto trail grapplers 295/70/18 which is about 34 or so. Do tire places recalibrate for bigger tires or must i buy a programmer? i have read that some people dont experience a change is the speedometer after new tires???

Yes you'll have to recalibrate for new tire size. Check out the threads in the modified forum. Lots of info on this.

Need? No.
Want? Yes.

If they upgraded to the exact same height, then no, they wouldn't experience any speedo change. If it was a different height, either taller or shorter, then yes, they had a speedo change...

No, tire places do not recalibrate your vehicles's speedo. You can either pay your dealer to make the change or do it your self with either programmer you mentioned.

The superchips has more capabilities than the procal but, also cost more. Take a look at the features and see which is the best value to you. Or, a one time fee from the dealer usually around $60 or so.

If you only want to correct the speedo and turn off TPMS, get the procal. If you want minor improvements for shifting points and fuel economy, then spend the extra $150 and get the Superchips.

I purchased a procal when I changed tire size. Took about five minutes and my speedometers is right on the money. I have verified its accuracy with a GPS and its right on.

Why not just call them and ask? If they charge, get a procal or flashpaq.

The dealer charges almost $100 for it. By the Procal for $125 and calibrate it yourself and you can change it later if needed. The Procal does other things too.
