Default Do i need them? Brake rotor retaining clips

I put on mb wheels chaos 5 rims on 35x12.5s... Vehicle is aligned but is all over the road.. I have seen grumblings of not needing the little clips at base of wheel studs that hold brake rotor in place... They arent smashed down which makes me think they arent making contact with back of each hole on wheel (there is a small indent on each)..

Should i scrap these or do they even matter?

If your talking about the round things on the studs then no they are primarily used to keep the rotors on while on the assembly line. Every including myself who has ever had wheel spacers on has removed them

Aftermarket wheels and spacers do not have the machined recess to allow use of the clips.

You definitely want to remove the clips so the wheel or spacer sits flush.

The clips are only there so the rotors don't fall off at the factory.

You MUST remove those clips if you mount anything but factory wheels!
