Do I need a winch plate ?
This may seem like a stupid question, but...
I'm looking for a winch and winch specific bumper (probably RR or Smittybilt). I searched on the forums for the answer, but no luck. So...do I need to get a winch plate for a bumper made for winches? Or are they only for using a winch on a stock bumper?

depending on your bumper... the plates give a solid base for the winch to attach to... without a solid base.. something will get pulled off your jeep. I have a rugged ridge front tubular that came with a winch plate... thing is sturdy as hell.
