Talking

Just tell them you used a code reader to scan for codes, and then reset them.

Some advertise not to leave a footprint, but if a tech is handy with the scan tool, he can tell ones been there. The PCM keeps history information.

Could superchips add the hot oil warning to an update?? If that were the case I would skip the dealer. We lost our local Jeep dealer during all the re-structuring mess.

Be careful here. My TJ was red flagged by a gung-ho service manager. After that no matter what dealer I took it to, it came up as being red flagged--most dealers categorically denied any warranty repairs because of the red flag.

Yes, I know this is illegal. But they can stonewall you until you get someone to force them to change their stance. And as I found out, Chrysler isn't always willing to force a dealership to warranty things like a bent t-case output shaft.

At that time I had a 2" BL and 2" spacer lift and 33's, hardly a radical build. But I pushed the issue and ended up basically having my warranty invalidated.

YMMV.

Most computer managed vehicles have erasable memory, this is where the aftermarket programmers store data. When you clear/erase that data it resets all sensors to a null status( by disconnecting the battery or electronically return to stock) the sensors will reset after driving in various conditions (i.e stop and go, hiway different engine parameters.

Many people in Ca pull their battery cable to reset the CEL and try to pass the SMOG check and fail due to the computer being tampered with. Most of the sensors will be reset within 100 miles. However the evap sensors take time cause they are set due to enviromental and other factors. this sensor could take a few weeks to reset.

My dealer knows that my JK is programmed and they don't care. If your dealership gives you any lip then try another dealer. Tell em to stop acting like girls and warranty your stuff!
Last time I checked this isn't communist Germany!!
