Default Do RK Triple Rate coils settle?

Hey all,

I bought the 2.5" triple rate coils (for 2DR) because I can only have a max of 2.5" lift to pass inspection. Unfortunately, even with these, I'm getting 3.5" of lift. Do they eventually settle, or did I just waste my money?

Those things aren't going to settle an inch IMO, no. I've had RK springs on my jeep for 8 years now, though not triple rate ones, and I don't believe I've lost much actual net lift over the years. I think a full inch is a lot to hope for. Any upcoming mods like heavier bumpers in the plans?

Out of curiosity, how do the inspection places up there determine your lift height?

You wasted your money buying anything from RK. Another victim of RKS BS marketing. Just throw about 800 pounds in the jeep when you go for inspection.

I figured an inch wasn't likely, but I thought if I could get a half inch, the inspector might go easy on me. I've got a heavy bumper and winch on, only "heavy" mod coming would be some rock sliders. I'll probably just put some JKU coils on it for 1.5-2" of lift for the inspection, then swap back. Oh well.

I'm not sure, I've never had to do one before. I can't really hope for ignorance here, lifted Jeeps aren't exactly rare, haha.

Is there a mfg that's actually accurate with their measurements? Is Teraflex better?

OME 2" no load would be my recommendation. I would not recommend teraflex to anyone.

Tragyn what province you in? I think Dirtman meant for 800lbs in bags of cement or something for the inspection. Not bolted equipment then turf them out after. Or better - just install everything check the height difference then add the weight under the back seat.
Old friend used to have a new Detomaso Pantera in 1975 and they run toe out in the steering. The old City test in Vancouver would not accept the toe out so he used to park on a hill toe in by counting turns (steering wheel out of center), go around the corner to test station, get it passed, drive around the corner and count the turns back to toe out again. You can do the same with those weights.

In Colorado, moving to Quebec, with a vehicle for Ontario, haha.

I've never considered loading random weight into the vehicle, I feel like inspectors are probably wise to that strategy. I ended up ordering the OME 2" coils anyway and I'm gonna see if I can return these RK coils.

OME is kinda funny with the coils, which specific load rate did you order? Even though they may all state 2", you can expect very different lift heights based on the specific load rate and how heavy your jeep sits. That's why he mentioned 2" no-load.
