Default Do you have to use an additive when locker?

Im getting ready to put my differential covers on and was wondering do i still have to use the additive for my front auburn locker? Im going to run a good synthetic in it but i am hoping i do not have to use the additive.
Thanks

I thought the additives were used for limited slip, not lockers?

No additive needed for a factory locker. There is an aftermarket locker that I understand uses a clutch limited slip (unsure which brand), that probably needs the additive)

Limited slips need a limited slip additive to allow the clutches to slip easier. Most synthetics incorporate this.

The REAL answer is yes, you need a friction additive with an Auburn unit. They recommend Ford, GM or their own ONLY. The Auburn Ected has clutches which require the additive. The additive is used to prevent clutch chatter (noise). The also very clearly state- DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OILS.

The factory Rubi electric locker does not require additive.

Sorry, yeh i have an auburn and i was told by some mechanics that synthetic oils would cover the additive part for the clutches.
When i change my covers next week i will have to buy new additive i guess.
So where can i get it?

Go to your local GM dealer and ask for friction modifier for the factory LSD. It should be under part number 1052358. Remember- Do not use synthetics.

MANUAL:
198 RBI (Model 35) and 226 RBI (Model 44) - MOPAR Gear & Axle Lubricant
(SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5) or equivalent. For trailer towing, use MOPAR
Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 75W-140) or equivalent. Models
equipped with Trac-Lok™ require an additive.

There is nothing about the True-Lok stock lockers
