Default Do you use a front Auto-locker??

Hi All,

I'm curerntly looking into putting at autolocker in the front.

I've done a search and just found that Aussie Lockers have released a new kit for the JK.

I've got the chance to snap up a second-hand kit for D30 for a bargain, but want to know what peoples experiences have been.

It seems theres plenty of people out there with autolockers in the front, but not many of them would be the Aussie JK kit.

Have you had any worries with the standard D30 kit in your JK??? Or do I need to spend the coin and by the JK specific one??

Having mine removed tommorow to see if it's the cause of my frt end noise . Didn't have the noise before gear and locker install. Will post if it's the cause or not.

Front end locker is waaaay at the bottom of my to-do list, but nonetheless is it a good idea for 2 door or will I have to switch to selectable locker anyway? I might move to East coast in a year, and I am concerned Aussie locker will make driving dangerous in ice/snow in 4 High, so the money for the locker+install will be essentially thrown away...

Save your money and get a selectable locker (ARB, OX).

I can let you know in a year. Just got an Aussie put in the front end a few weeks ago, and still have yet to go offroad with it.
but regular pavement driving in 2wd I rarely notice it is there.

And from what I've read, if you are careful with your driving, and don't be hard on the accelerator in corners, you should be fine with an auto-locker in the front. If you need 4-hi, you shouldn't be going too fast anyway.

I had one in my TJ and I loved it. I will be getting one for my JK. Mine was pretty quiet on the road and didn't make any noise except ever so often. I also use to run a full case detroit in the rear of my TJ and if you guys that think that aussie locker is loud then definitely don't put any kind of auto locker in the rear.

The bottom line is, if auto lockers were such a terrible product, they would be making them because no one would buy them. Properly set up, with the CORRECT shims and clearances, they work GREAT. If you experience anything else, something is wrong.

Front auto lockers are great as long as you don't need to do much driving on icy roads. Guessing from the OP's location that's not an issue.
