Default Does Airaid come pre-oiled?

Just about to order the Airaid CAI when a friend brought up these questions: Does the Airaid come oiled from the factory? Is there a danger in oiling a filter that I will mess up something, such as the sensor? I have seen other posts where people mentioned it might be easier to just buy a new filter after 50k, rather than worrying about cleaning/oiling.

Comments/opinions welcome...

Thanks!

Ditto. I need to get around to purchasing the oil kit for future maintenance.

The trick is not to oil it TOO much. I have 2 filters so I can just put another on when I need to. You have to clean and oil the filter in many light coats of oil and let it sit a couple days. If you don't, you can clog the mass flow air sensor and trip the CEL.

I've had 4-5 oil impregnated filters and have never had to clean and re-oil one yet. I keep trading the vehicles before it's needed.

Maybe it's how you "impregnate" them.
