Does anyone have the Warrior Side Plates?
Yup
Very unhappy with them.
1st issue was that they come undrilled- there are only 2 holes drilled in them for mounting. They expect you to drill the remainder yourself. I don't know about you, but when I buy something I expect it to be pre-drilled so that all I have to do is hold it up to the body and mark the locations to drill. But this wasn't a deal killer.
2nd issue (this was the deal killer) was that if you hold them up to the side of the Jeep, they would not sit flush- they were not bent to conform to the Jeeps shape exactly- IE: if you hold it against the pinch seam, the upper part was a good 2 inches away from the body. Considering that these things are held on with a handful of pop rivets going into the body sheet metal (and we all know how thin the body sheet metal is), I just didn't think it was safe to have that. I mean the metal (of the sideplate) is going to want to "spring" outwards, so IMHO it would have a high risk of pulling the pop rivets right thru the body over time. I called Warrior and they said it is fine, and that they have never had anyone experience that. Well hell, the JK's haven't been out long enough for that to happen yet. Of course Warrior can't "guarantee" that it won't happen over time. So I wasn't willing to take the risk.
I have talked to Off Road Evolution about theirs. Unfortunately their current design does not go full length of the body (fender to fender). They are working on a version like that which they hope to have available early '09. So I'm going to wait for theirs.

I ordered these to cover a couple of dents in my passenger side lower panel before I saw N2s post. By the time I called to cancel them I was told that they had already shipped (can't complain about same day shipping) they should be here tomorrow I will take them out of the box and get some pix of what N2 is talking about before I sent them back to Qtec.
That would be appreciated. I have a little body damage as well and have been trying to think of a good way to cover it up.
