Did you ever get around to this mod? I am seriously considering it as well - but i do have some concerns about the tank by the radiator. Love any feedback.

I really need to check my threads more often. Sorry for the late reply Szobell, no I haven't done this mod yet. Right now the wife and I are looking at lift options. I still think this is a necessary mod, just not sure how to go about it.

Thanks for the input serveapurpose, it's always good to have ground user feedback.

Cheers!

ARB dual compressor. You really don't need a tank. I run one with mine (under the back seat) but I've heard that one really isn't needed as it pushes about 3cfm around 90psi.

I understand that the Dominion setup uses one of the Viair's on board air system. It's a nice setup and idea if you can afford it. I also debated the need, or not, of a tank for a while and decided to get a Viair system instead of the Dominion. The tank will definitely help inflating the tires faster and even allow for running other accessories.

My plan, right now, is to install the tank and compressor on my Or-Fab tire and gas can carrier. Plenty space for them over there and will not be as exposed as if mounted under the Jeep, even though there are a couple skid plates available to protect the tank. So, under the Jeep is still an idea I am considering. The reason I did not go with the Dominion's concept was because you need to remove the tank to service the belts or anything in that area.

One question about this photo. Is that some kind of paint or corrosion? The tank looks rusted.

I have both the dominion onboard setup and a RIPP. NO issues with the two both being under the hood

I have the dominion set up and i had 2 issues. The transmission cooler lines are in the way of the tank. Even after bending them they still rubbed and later the bending caused leaks at the crimps. Also the tank can make oil filter removal more difficult.

I wondered about that, there has to be a better way/place to mount an airtank.

There are many.

Under the Jeep. Some vendors make skid plates that protect the tank there. And I saw a few folks with a high lift doing it without the plate.

Inside the cabin. Some folks here attached their tanks to the roll bars. I personally prefer the tank outside the cabin.

I am planning to mount my tank to my tire carrier.

In a Jeep imagination is the limit. :-)
