Default Door Skins, Really?

Well i was looking at trying to get another year out of my rubi rails and still have some protection. So ive been looking at the door skins that ORE and PS make's and i have to say i love the looks. But once you buy sliders they really don't offer any protection do they. I guess im debating do i save my 200 bucks and wait till i have another 400 to get sliders? or do i get the skins now before the season opens and get the rails when i have the money maybe over the summer. I did ok last year and didn't get in much trouble but there are a few places where i question the rubi rails.

Thoughts?

I love the way the look and I'm sure they add some protection but it seems rust would be a factor between the body and skins after time..
