Default Downsize Opinion Please

Right now I'm running 33x12.50 BFG mud terrains with Cragar steel D windows with the fake beadlocks and 3.21 gears. I also have a TF 2.5 bb

I know it's not much of a downsize but I'm thinking of switching to factory Rubicon wheels/tires to get some power back and save a little on gas. I know I could do a re-gear but right now I would love to make/save a little money rather then dish out another $1000-1500 for gears.

Do you think it's worth it and do you think i would actually get a decent amount of power back?

thanks

if you do that you will need to get wheel spacers or the tires will rub.

Here you can get front and rears complete for $1000 with 4.10's and then sell yours...

I don't think the gain in power and gas mileage will be enough to justify the cost of the new wheels and tires. I would wear the 33s down first and then downsize if that's what you want to do. By the way, gears are all on back order until the end of the summer.

You could always buy a motorcycle or a scooter. A lot of motorcycles achieve over 70 miles to the gallon, and it's not unheard of for a scooter to see 120 mpg. For a lot of people, a scooter or a cheap motorcycle would pay for itself in three or four years.

The plan would be to sell my wheels and tires (which are brand new) and make a little cash. They just weigh so damn much and I need more power, without breaking the bank, like I havn't already...

First I would find out how much a rubi wheel/tire combo weighs verse you wheel/tires now, also only go down 1inch in tire size wont really affect your power enough to feel it. I dont believe the difference in the weight will either.

I'd save your money that you would spend on the tires/wheels/spacers and get gears eventually.

Good Luck
