Default Drag link flip

Trying to get my steering geometry on par. I want to do a draglink flip..I have a stock pitman arm, 4" coil lift, JKS welded trackbar bracket (axle side), and adj. track bar...oh yeah, 15" rims w/ 3.75 BS (some manufacturers kits wont fit a 15" rim).

I'm looking at EVO and Teraflex so far..

TeraFlex HD Forged Front Flip Draglink
For 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 4"+ Lift
Quadratec Part No: 16191.9007
Manufacturer Part No: 1600448

Just PMed Andrew about just the flip w/out trackbar bracket.

Teraflex recommends a frame side drop bracket, will this be needed for my app.??

If any of you guys run this setup I would appreciate any input. I'd really like to know if the Teraflex Flip will improve and or fit!

-John

I had serious bump steer issues when I initially had my axle trussed, because the axle side track bar attachment point was moved up quite a bit. I installed an ORE drag link flip kit and it made a huge difference.

You could look at a drop pitman arm...but I'd do the drag link flip instead. Your goal is to get the drag link and track bar as close to parallel as possible. A bonus is if you can get both of them close to being horizontal. I found that after the drag link flip, my drag link and track bar were almost parallel and closer to horizontal than they had been prior to the axle truss...and I now have less bump steer than I had after I initially installed my lift. I never had very much, and the change was not big...but bringing the drag link and track bar closer to horizontal seemed to yield a small improvement.

As far as putting on a frame side trackbar drop bracket? That doesn't make sense to me. I'd think that dropping the frame end of the track bar after raising the axle end of the track bar (without addressing the angle of the drag link) would make your problems worse, not better.

It is better to raise the track bar from the axle side to improve roll center. The frame side drop puts more stress on the track bar bracket. You may have to cut off your JKS parts to put a proper flip kit on the axle.

I think that the OP already has a raised trackbar bracket on the axle side.

I'm running the evo drag link flip. Immediately noticed a difference in the handling and it still works with my 15" cragers.

I run the currie drag link flipped. I too felt a big difference in handling.
The currie drag link only will work with 15" wheels. Not their tie rod though.

Sorry, but he has not raised it on the axle nor the frame yet. He has a JKS track bar brace on the axle but that does not raise the track bar mounts.

not sure you would have to talk to mel, but i think by raising the trackbar, or lowering the frame side, which puts it a a better angle is part of why it handles better now, other wise their kit has a correct drag link end to compensate for it being flipped over and they give you a sleeve that sits in the hole you widen on the knuckle.
