Default Drag Link play (pic)

I am currently hearing some popping noise when my jeep does light articulation, I noticed my drag link has some serious play (pivots about an inch) is this normal? i just changed my lower ball joint on the same side the other day, I don't think I left anything wrong other than the drink link pivoting that way
Whats the best way to replicate the articulation on stand still mode using jacks? can i lift it from a certain point?

I think it is ok to have a little play. i am pretty sure it is that way by design.

Rotational is normal. Up and down is not.

Grab some large channel locks and squeeze the joint. Or have somebody 10-2 the steering wheel and watch all the joints. Look for up and down movement.

The drag link TRE to steering knuckle usually is first to go.

Stock it's one piece all the way to the adjuster. Then a TRE to the pitman arm.
Stock you will need that whole section of the drag link.
Options
-new
-take off (somebody that upgraded)
-aftermarket HD

I have Synergy's high steer drag link but can be used in the stock location . Click image for larger version
