can you not just measure and get it dialed in? I'm thinking if the removed unit was correct, make a jig, set length and go. Unless something was off to start with.

Nothing was off to begin with. I said frustrating, not all that time consuming..definitely doesn't warrant the time to make a jig. I followed synergy's instructions and installed it as it shipped with both ends screwed all the way in. It just didn't work out that the wheel was centered afterwards when installed like that...hence all the adjustment that's built in. Again, not a big deal.

Default you can put a piece of masking tape on center ofsteering wheel

dead center sticking upward tab then just look at the tape from up front through windshield to see if the tab of tape looks exactly centered if you don't have a second person to watch it !

!
() < adjust by looking at the tape you put at top center of steering wheel

Bingo! This is exactly what I did...learned this trick on the forum. Actually left the painters tape on for a few days to make sure the wheel was where I wanted it.

Just wish there was a way to turn the steering back and forth with no help
maybe tie a rope from steering wheel out both windows and around to the front of jeep kinda like a old sled.

Yeh , my steering was off just tad wasnt perfect with the tab of tape flipped up I was able to see it move with out running back and fourth or several test drives . you just need a eagle eye is all ! was not aware of any one using this method lol if you think of something chances are some one else thought of it before you and has a design pattern on it lol.
