Default Drive shaft question

I just installed coast drive shafts and was curious, are the JE Reel and Tom Woods centering balls not serviceable either? I had to take my front to a local shop to balance as it was not straight out of the box, and they seemed surprised there was no way to service also. Wasn't there an epidemic (angry sparrows) with the stock TJ shaft due to this joint not being serviceable?

Hey LP...just trying to figure out what you've got going on there. On your other post you have a clicking sound you hear when you spin your wheels. This post has got you replacing your shaft. So, did the clicking start right after you installed the DS?

So I had the gears done about 5 weeks ago, at that point the front and rear drive shafts were stock and I had a slight vibration that felt as if it were coming from the transmission so I replaced the front shaft with the coast. Vibrations got worse so I took out the front shaft and it was back to the original slight vibration I had since the gears were done. I took the shaft to a local shop and they balanced (I have not reinstalled yet so I can say if its better). They also told me that the coast shaft is going to give me trouble because the centering ball is not servicable, thus the reason for this thread.

Anyway, while the shaft is out I started looking at balljoints, bearings and anything else that could be the culprit. In doing this I had the wheels off the ground and rotated the tires. This is when I noticed the clicking. I did the same thing to the rear wheels and they also click. I can not hear any clicking when driving. I took it back to the shop and they said its totally normal which Im not comfortable with as someone on the other thread said their Rubicon does not click.

Thanks for the inquiry

What is a "centering ball"? I have a Coast shaft but have no idea what you're talking about. Also, these double cardan shafts need to have the front pinion pointing at the transfer case or you will get vibrations.

The double cardan portion has a ball/spring between the two u-joints.

And I agree, from my understanding (with a linked suspension) the pinion at the axle should pointed straght at the driveshaft.
