Default Drive shaft replacement help

I have a rear Tom Woods DS and just waiting to get a front Tom Woods DS in November to install both at same time.

In the process of getting tools and install info together and have a question about the inch lb. torque wrench need to check the preload on the pinon nut.

Do I need one of those $25.00 needle torque wrench or a $150.00 dial in lb. torque wrench or as our fleet mechanic told me yesterday, that he would use an inch lb. fish scale hooked to the pinon to check preload. Or, just torque to pinon nut back down to 160 ft. lbs.

Pics would help!
