Default Driveline question?

What are the differences in drive shafts? What is a cv style shaft mean? What is an axle u bolt conversion and are they on the drive shafts or axle ends? Just trying to make some sense of it. Thanks

I don't know exactly how it works or what everything is called, but I know how to do a switch from stock shaft to a COAST shaft. I watched my mechanic brother install my front COAST shaft. On the stock shaft, axel end , is a plate with about 12 bolts and that is connected to your U joints, that plate holds them together to your axel housing. Now the stock u-joints don't come apart or seperate from that plate with out a press. With the coast drivshaft kit, you take that whole plate assembly crap off and add just the female end of your U joint and bolt it back on to the axel housing. The shaft end has the U joint assembly ready to go. Simply take that end and place it in the female end and use the provided U bolts to tighten it down....and done. I believe that is what your talking about? Mabey I'm just confused and rambling cause I'm tired.
