Default driveshaft angle too much?

this is a pic of my front driveshaft at transfer case, I'm not sure if its to much of an angle now, I replaced my front springs last week with that same springs(original set bowed) It seems I got a lot more then 3in, I know my fronts were bowed before but these seem 2in higher or so. I now have a grinding/binding noise in 4wd coming from transfer case, just not sure if its because of the anlge or I killed transfer case

here is pic of the rear, almost no angle

yeah, that looks like you're about at your max on that CV joint. is the grinding kind of like a ratcheting sound? if so, it's the bearings in the CV joint going bad or are bad.

damn you hit the nail on the head, its definitely a ratcheting sound, so is it just the drive shaft then? or transfer case too? I cut the boot off yesterday because it was twisted really tight around the shaft.

hmm I wonder if I pull the 1in spacers that are in there will correct it for now. I want to goto a 6in long arm this year, I think if I get a new front now I'll need another longer one once I goto 6in lift right?

nope, if you are hearing the ratching now, your cv joint is toast and lowering your jk will not fix it. if you get a new shaft, you will be fine running it even after you go to 6" of lift.

TKOB, did u get a new driveshaft? Did it solve the problem? I think I have the same thing going on.

I replaced the DS with a Tom Woods about 2 weeks ago and I have the same sound. Kinda of spinning, whirling, rattling sound. It starts to make the sound around 40 mph and gets progressively louder.

At first I brought it to the dealer and they said it was the DS but replaced the tcase anyway. It went away for about a week or so then it's back. So I switched to a spare DS that I had bought as a spare some time ago. No sound, then about a week later its back. It was getting worse and worse so I decided that I had better get a aftermarket duel carden DS because of that extreme angle at the tcase like what you have pictured up above.

When I first started noticing it, I was trying to figure where it was coming from; transmission, t-case, front axle, driveshaft, rocks? I was going about 50 and switched into 4hi and the sound went completely away until I let off the gas and it came back. I demostrated that to the dealer and thats when they replaced the tcase.

The only time it was dead quiet was when I took off the front shaft for a couple of days waiting for the TW driveshaft.

I was under the Jeep one afternoon trying to figure this out and jiggled the output of the tcase to the front DS and there was a little up and down play. I figured that must be it but I went to the dealer this last weekend to look for a 300 for the wife and jumped under a couple of JK (6 to be exact) and 5 of them had the same up down play.

I didn't notice any special sounds until I added the 3/4 spacers to the 4" Superlift. Obviously the driveline angle has something to do with it.
