Exclamation Driveshaft JeReel 1310HD

So i just removed the stock driveshaft, and noticed right away that the stock one can compress and expand really easily, however i noticed on my JE reel that it doesnt expand and contract by hand at all. IS THIS NORMAL? Are they just tight in the beginning?

This is the front driveshaft.

Please help!

I have installed 2 of these and they both slid in and out by hand with a little bit of force. Give Jim a call at JE Reel. He will help you out. They were excellent when I had questions.

Sometimes during shipment, they get bang around pretty good. Just pull a little harder or whack it with a mallet, should do it.

Wow that doesn't look anything like the J.E. Reels driveshaft I bought??? I expected it to look like that. Instead it looks like this:

Did you not pay extra for the rust and broken joint?

It should expand with a decent tug.

I returned my Reel 1350 yesterday (still waiting on the $$). Couldn't get the rear transfer case to stop leaking with the Reel Flange. Put the stock shaft back on and no leak..........

The NUTS are a bitch, spray it with some NUTS off or WD40 and let it soak. Use a big ass breaker bar and then reach down a grab some and hopefully it will come loose! Check your pants when done!

do you have a grease gun handy? pump a little grease in the slip yoke or whatever it is called. That should increase the pressure and pop it out. The grease in it may be causing a vacuum when you are pulling on it. It is just a theory, no experience or knowledge behind it. I am just throwing an idea out there, so if it sounds dumb sorry.

Default still stumped by the front flange nut

any tricks? because i still cant get this to come loose after soaking it with WD-40. I am sure im LOOSENING. I am rotating the wrench up towards the oil pan. I have the longest bar i can put under the jeep even when on jack stands. I am using the brakes to prevent the wheels from wanting to turn. I was using a torque wrench because of its very long arm and it maxed out at 250ft-lbs before i couldnt give it any more. What have you guys been doing to get these loose?
