Default Driveshaft problems?

I lifted my jeep 4.25 inches about a month ago. I was coming out of a mud hole the other day and got a loud clanking noise. When the jeep is cold it does it bad but after it warms up it hardly ever makes the noise. I have a two door and the front drive shaft is slinging grease but I have always heard the rear will go first on the 2 door. I can't tell if the sound is coming from the rear or front. I am going to pull the front drive shaft tomorrow to see. Can anyone chime in on their experiences or knowledge on this. Please help me out.

Yep, same thing happened to mine. I came out of a mud hole and had a terrible clanking sound, but I also had some wobbling. Disconnected both shafts and was towed home. Checked and both shafts were bad. Got some TW Shafts and now it is fine.

Above 3" on a 2-dr and your in a bad position with the angle of the shafts. If your sending grease everywhere, Id bet your boot is torn... Its not if, but when... Unfortunately You hit "when" now....

Good luck!

So do I need to replace the front only since it is slinging grease or the back too?

Is the back slinging grease too?

If its only the front, that will need to be replaced, but prob a matter of time before both.

I have a 4" lift and both of mine were slinging, and then they went out at the same time.
