Default Driveshaft Problems? CV joint? Help Appreciated

Hello - I recently had a 2.5 Teraflex coil lift installed, 400 miles ago. Had a well known Jeep installer in my area install. I was under there tonight and noticed this, pictures attached. My installer didn't say there was any problems during the install. Ujoint. Could this be from removing the driveshaft during install? maybe using something to remove bolts - pb blaster? its not wet or greasy to touch. Its a 2014 JKU with 20,000 miles. The front and rear drive shafts look like brand new besides this. Can't say if it looked like this before lift. No noise or problems. Also installed JKS drop brackets at same time. I'm headed out this weekend on 200 mile round trip and didn't want any issues. Any help or advice appreciated. No off roading ever on this jeep yet. Thanks - Don Click image for larger version

They shouldn't have touched your yokes there if there are well known for their jeep installs. Those 4 15mm bolt heads will release your driveshaft. Your ujoint looks to be crying.

Looks to me like your drive shaft U-Joint is failing.

Grab the drive shaft above the U-Joint and move up and down and side to side to see if there is any movement. If there is then the U-Joint is failing and could be bad if it fails while driving.

Do you think its an immediate issue? or can wait a week? Just don't have time to get it done before I leave this weekend. No off roading this weekend but i will probably need 4wd becuase of snow. Do you think dealer would repair? its under warranty but figure theres no chance because of lift.

Dealer should cover this. As for using 4WD I would limit it until you get it fixed. Again that is just me.

Just checked it out. Didn't see any play in the joint itself. No movement up and down when pulling in driveshaft. Only slight turn left and right when turning driveshaft and not in joint.

The weeping you see is the roller bearing grease coming out. Monitor it for unusual sounds. Since you need 4wd for the snow my other options will not work, removing it.

Okay. Thanks for info. I'm going to try and have my mechanic look at it tomorrow. Any idea how long and how much it costs to replace? Do you think lift could have caused it? It's only been on for about 400 around town miles.

First off, the factory driveshaft U Joint is not serviceable so that means once it is gone you must purchase a complete new driveshaft.

If you have no vibrations and no squeaking just keep driving it as is. Monitor it for slop. Usually it's the upper Rezzpa joint that fails first. The lift in itself would not cause this problem but if you are getting a strong vibration from somewhere that could cause it.
