Default Dropped a chunk of a rivet ...

... into the windsheid defroster slot. Bonehead move. Now it's rattling and driving me nuts!! However, I can't seem to find it/see it. Ugh. I was being good (happened during electrical switch pod install) and taped up the opening but when I removed the tape, a chunk of leftover metal was lying there and promptly fell in.

Ideas, short of pulling off the whole dash?

Steel or aluminum? If steel try magnet...if aluminum try a shop vac with a piece of small hose taped to end

Magnet trick did not work but I really like the shopvac idea. Who knows what else I'll suck up in the process - maybe enough spare change to fill up the tank!
