Default Dual Battery

Having trouble finding a good variety of dual battery trays for my '13 JK. What do s everyone using these days?

How about controllers?

A thorough search & comparison led me to what I consider to be the best option -- the Genesis Offroad Battery Tray & Smart Isolator.
I think it's the best made. The smart battery isolator is included (even already installed and wired...).
The smart battery isolator is a solenoid, which beats the electronic ones in reliability.
Works flawlessly, and heard no complaints from others.
I use 2 Optima Yellow Tops.

For the controller I'm looking at the Painless 40121 w/ Jump Start. I've seen the genesis kit, but can't find just the tray. I'm also going with yellow tops. The M.O.R.E is the tray I'm looking at now. Both are on Amazon and will come out over $100 less than the genesis kit.

Well, I'm starting to wonder if you work for Genesis. If not, you should. I just ordered their kit along with the G Screen monitoring system. That upgradable interface they have is pretty slick and is what pushed me to their set up. I can be a bit of a "geardo" when it comes to that kinda stuff.

Thanks for the input!

You will like the Genesis kit. Shane is a good guy too. I let my medic alert bracelet contact the posts on top of the isolator which fried the chip. Shane sent me a new one and didn't rake me over the coals on the price. New isolator showed up real quick so I was good to go. Put some heat shrink on the two small posts on top of the isolator if you are any type of a clutz anbd work on electrical stuff without disconecting the battery

It's hard to work on a system that involves connecting batteries with the batteries disconnected, I'll take extra precautions though, I've always been a real safety-cat.

One of my reasons for preferring the Genesis kit over the M.O.R.E., was that the M.O.R.E. holds the batteries by nylon straps, which have lower long-term reliability than metal.

I’m not even thinking about working for them…
BTW, on their video, they say that the upgradable interface allows jump starting from the driver seat, as if that’s impossible without the interface. The kit without it, includes a jump start button which, too, can be installed to the left of the steering wheel.

Oh, absolutely. I get they have an upgrade to sell. Just so happens I think it's a pretty slick one.

Yes, the interface is real nice, and also has an ergonomic advantage over the plain jump-start switch.
It can be installed anywhere within driver reach, and pushed once for 3 seconds to bridge the 2 batteries.
The plain jump-start switch has to be located left to the steering wheel, and pushed constantly with the left hand, while the right hand starts the engine.

Well, arguably you can relocate a switch to anywhere you'd like. That being said, I do like the volt meter functionality and the read out. The biggest problem I always had with my last battery setup was remembering what the status was in each switch position.
