Dual battery question.
I currently am running a 800CCA battery for my jeep with my warn m8000 hooked up to it. I was thinking of getting one of those dual battery trays and hooking my stock battery back up the way the dealer had it when i bought it, then using the 800CCA battery for my winch. is that a good idea, or do i need two batteries around 800CCA's for this idea?
With the Optima's, for example, the specifically say on their website that if you're going to have them wired in parallel with another battery that "it must be similary battery of similar age" (see optima website, FAQs). Otherwise the batteries will have different internal resistances and eletricity will take the path of least resistance and you risk not getting full voltage to one of the batteries.
Also, I don't know that the stock battery fits on one of those tray's with a second battery. It's pretty tight with two optimas, and the stock battery is larger than an optima.
The dual isolator's essentially wire the batteries in parallel when the isolator is closed.
