Default Dumb Arb Bumper Install Question....

I am a newb, be nice to me.......

Alrighty, things are going well....bumper off Jeep, cut those crush cans off, installed the lights and just finished up installing the fog light portion of the install...i think I'm doing good so far. One question - there is no mention of using LOCK WASHERS or LOCK TIGHT in the instructions....the box does contain some Lock Washers and the nuts have a bit of teeth (?) on them to hold. I can see using the Lock Washers when I attach the bumper to the jeep tomorrow, but what about the brackets for the fog lights and the side braces...may not be enough of them.....I am doing the specified tourque settings.......any guidance for this newb.....my kids think the jeep looks cool without the bumper...go figure...

Thanks.

I didn't use the lock washers on mine. I checked them a couple weeks after install and none were loose. I'll take luck over skill any day. Here's some info I learned installing mine. Screw the bolts into the bumper before you install it, they have a pretty snug fit and when your putting the bumper on it helps having the threads already "warmed" up . Then, when installing the bumper don't tighten the bolts until you get all of them started. The bumper has pretty tight tolerances for the mounting holes, I found cussing a lot helped get them in position.

Yeah, there are a bunch of screws that go undocumented in the instructions. I just didn't use them. I think that they went with the license plate plipper-upper thing.

Lets see some pics and how much did the bumper weigh? Did your front end squat with it?

Camera battery was about to die....snapped these quick....Next Stop...LOD Rear, then a 3 inch lift.....

I did not notice any squatting in the front end at all.....all my buddies were away and I could'nt wait to throw it on, so I did it all myself....held the bumper up on my own and all....its freakin heavy duty!! If your in Canada...call STAN at www.northridge4x4.ca
