Default Dumb Tire Question

I'm just not 100% sure so I have to ask: will a 16.5" tire fit on a 17" wheel?
I want to get a set of used military hummer tires and I'm wondering if this will work.

Take it easy on me guys and gals

Nope they won't. And on a side note stay away from the 16.5" tire family in general. That size doesn't use a inner "safety lip" on the wheels and when you run lower air pressure while wheeling they are prone to loosing a bead.

16.5" tires and wheels were designed originally for heavy industry and military specificaly because there wasn't a market for them in the passenger vehicle world (saftey issues). You will also find that most 16.5" tires are in load range E and above.
